This morning I reviewed a post that was talking about how before each Passover, or promotion, there would always be an opposition. This prompted me to review the past journals to see what happened during Passover or even crossing over of Jordan. I saw clearly that I had indeed encountered resistance or increased pressure before each Passover in the previous years.
But for this Passover, the warfare was unprecedented. It wasn’t so much of a personal attack on my life but a worldwide crisis. No one could really say that they are not affected by this pandemic. Even if one has no fear of this virus, the way it has changed our lifestyle was so evident. It is very uncomfortable and if we look at the natural, there seems to be no answer. No one knows exactly how long we can carry on like this. Many people are becoming more wearied. Running out of steam.
I was just telling Heng last night that for almost six weeks, Singapore managed to keep the infected cases low like around 100. But once this virus became a pandemic, it became more out of control. Suddenly we had more than 800 infected cases in just the past month, mostly imported cases. Pressures surmounted as government clamped down on social gatherings. They were trying to avoid a total lockdown because it would be very disruptive.
There were a few waves of attacks in Mar, starting from the announcement of this outbreak being a pandemic. First the churches were closed. Then Malaysia shut its borders as they also had a lockdown. This triggered another round of panic buying. Next, the droves of returning Singaporeans also posed a threat of imported infections. Then we heard of people flouting the stay at home restrictions. As time passed, businesses and the economy was being hit badly.
Besides there was also increased pressure for Ministry of Education (MOE) to shut down schools. Instead of resorting to that, MOE declared a day of staying home for the students from 1 Apr. As for Heng’s company, they were told to stay home as much as possible, maintaining only 20% of the workforce in the office. This would ease the traffic on public transport. The rules about not meeting in groups of more than ten people effectively stopped our CG meetings. Even when we went for miracle workers meeting last Sat, we had to be discreet for fear of getting our hosts into trouble.
These are actually birth pangs. With each wave of contractions, we are drawing nearer to the birth. Indeed the stage is being set for Jesus to show up. And this will be the greatest show on earth. Like in those days preceding Passover, there was a plague of darkness where people stayed at home for three days, I see a parallel now. Though it wasn’t a full lockdown, people mostly stayed at home since last week. So this is the second week. Next week will be Passover.
Even during the night of Passover, the Israelites were told to stay at home and sacrifice the lamb then sprinkle its blood on their doorposts. Then they were to eat the roasted lamb as a family but fully dressed to go. In fact, on the tenth day of Nisan, which would be 4 Apr this year, the lamb was to be brought into their house. I take it to mean that we are to stay at home during this time and to make room in our hearts for Jesus, the Passover lamb.
The reason for taking the lamb into the house was so amazing. The family had time to develop a relationship with the lamb but it was to be killed four days later. That would make a bigger impact on the significance of the sacrifice of the lamb. I think God is trying to make His church really value the sacrifice of His Son this time round. I cannot even fathom what He is going to do to deliver us from this virus. This Passover is really very special and like a reset, things will never be the same anymore.
Our lives will be defined by this event. Things that happened before the Passover and things after this Passover. The Lord is not revealing to me what He is doing yet. But I know He wants to let us know the strategies for Passover. He wants us to seek Him in preparing for this event and what comes after it. The other day during my personal worship, I saw Jesus appearing as a commander. Immediately I knew there was a war going on and He has come to fight for us. In His visitation to Joshua in the bible, His purpose was to reveal the battle strategies for taking down Jericho.
So I asked the Lord what kind of strategies He has in store for us in this current battle. I am pressing in for the strategies. Specifically I am also seeking Him for strategies on wealth transfer for I know it is coming very soon. On the night of the Passover, which will be on 8 Apr. Will there be a sudden end to this virus? What else do we need to prepare now for the rebound? How to position oneself to prepare for the wealth transfer?
